FAQ & Troubleshooting
Common questions and issues when connecting Content Hub over MCP.
My browser showed "Site can't be reached" after I signed in
This is expected. Don't worry. Claude Desktop already received the token it needs before that page loaded. Just close the tab and go back to your chat.
The browser didn't open automatically to sign in
Some setups block automatic browser launches. If it doesn't open on its own, check for a link in Claude's response and open it manually, or check your OS's default-browser settings.
I need to reconnect / my connection stopped working
Access tokens refresh automatically for up to 30 days. If it's been longer than that, or you revoked access previously, just repeat the connection steps: you'll be prompted to sign in and approve access again.
How do I revoke access?
Go to Settings → Connected Apps in Content Hub and remove the connection, or delete the server entry from your MCP client's own configuration file.
Which MCP clients are supported?
Claude Desktop is documented step-by-step in Connecting Claude Desktop. Any other MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers with OAuth should work the same way: add the server, sign in when prompted, and approve access.
Is the data live?
Mostly no: reads are served from Content Hub's regularly-synced tables (the same data you'd see in the product's own dashboards), not a live call to the underlying source each time you ask. See Overview for what this covers.
Can it change data without me approving it?
No. Anything that creates, updates, or deletes data always shows a preview and requires explicit confirmation first: see Security & Access.
Still stuck?
If something here doesn't resolve it, reach out to your Content Hub contact with what you tried and any error message you saw.
