Connect GA4
Link Google Analytics 4 to track content engagement metrics.
Connecting Google Analytics 4 gives Content Hub access to your site's session and user data, the engagement side of Referrals, alongside the search-visibility data pulled in from Google Search Console. It's also the source for splitting traffic by AI crawler (ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) on that same page.
Connecting
- Open Integrations in your Content Hub settings.
- Click Connect next to GA4.
- Sign in with the Google account that has access to the GA4 property, you'll need at least read access to the property you want to link.
- Select the property (and data stream, if the property has more than one) to link.
- Confirm the connection. Content Hub starts pulling data on its next scheduled refresh, or immediately if you hit Refresh on Referrals.
Exact connection screen isn't confirmed here
The specific fields on the connection screen (data stream selection when a property has several, what happens if the account has zero accessible properties, the re-authorization flow when a token expires) aren't captured here. Confirm against the live flow before treating any specific field list as final.
After connecting
Once linked, GA4 data feeds into Referrals's Sessions/Users/New Users stats, the Top Performing Pages table, and the Referrers grouped by model breakdown. Data refreshes when you hit Refresh on that page rather than updating live on every view.
Read access only
Content Hub reads your GA4 data to populate reporting. It doesn't create custom events, modify your property's configuration, or otherwise write back to your GA4 account.
